Celiac Disease

Individuals with celiac disease have an adverse immune response to foods containing wheat protein such as bread, pasta, crackers or anything containing gluten. This limits the absorption of critical nutrients and can damage the small intestine. Celiac disease can be managed by changing dietary habits.

Symptoms

  • Abdominal pain, upset stomach
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloating
  • Skin rash
  • Joint pain/muscle cramps
  • Irritability/depression

  • Autoimmune thyroid disease
