Bladder Cancer

Approximately 1 in 27 men and 1 in 85 women will develop bladder cancer in their lifetime. The vast majority of bladder cancer develops by random chance and does not run in families.

Symptoms

  • Blood in the urine
  • Frequent or painful urination
  • Feeling the urge to urinate, but not being able to pass urine

Causes/Risk Factors

  • Smoking
  • Increasing age
  • Being male
  • Chemical exposures
  • Chronic bladder problems
