Testicular Cancer

Testicular cancer is cancer in one or both testicles of young men. Approximately 1 in 300 men will develop testicular cancer. Treatment is usually successful, so the risk of dying from this cancer is very low.

Symptoms

  • Lump or swelling in either testicle
  • Pain in a testicle or scrotum
  • A testicle that becomes bigger or smaller
  • Dull ache in the abdomen or groin

Causes/Risk Factors

  • Testicles that did not go down into the scrotum before birth
  • Certain genetic syndromes
  • HIV infection
  • Family history of testicular cancer
