Genetic CounselorsAbout us- Informed Medical Decisions, Inc. (InformedDNA) is hiring experienced contract genetic counselors with neurogenetics expertise for our rapidly growing company. InformedDNA was conceived and founded by a Genetic Counselor frustrated with the lack of widespread access to her colleagues’ expertise and concerned about the risks posed to patients by rapidly expanding and heavily marketed direct-to-consumer genetic tests. InformedDNA is the leading provider of telephone- and web-based Genetic Counseling for hereditary diseases. By increasing nationwide access via the telephone, our patient education process empowers more individuals, their family members, and their health care providers to make the most informed genetic testing, disease screening and prevention decisions based on their personal risks.About the position- Our Genetic Counselors are our credentials and as such must be world-class genetics experts who meet or exceed the following expectations: Provide brilliant customer service to patients and providers. Obtain accurate patient personal and family medical history and create 3-generation pedigree. Interpret the personal and family medical history in terms of genetic risks and whether these conditions are detectable through various tests. Assist patients in understanding genetic disease. Coordinate genetic testing, monitor testing process and results. Coordinate phone and online counseling services and lab support. Prepare detailed summary reports for patients and the health care providers they designate. Update and maintain patient electronic health records. Create and update content for clinical services and products. Represent InformedDNA at various industry, non-profit and government meetings, symposiums and conferences. Participate in identifying Business Development About you- We are searching for Genetic Counselors with entrepreneurial mindsets who live a “hands on, how can I help” attitude. Minimum requirements include a Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling and American Board of Medical Genetics or National Board of Genetics Counselors certification. Three years of Genetic Counseling experience is required.
